About Dr Sarah O’Reilly-Harbidge
Dr O'Reilly-Harbidge is an Australian trained orthopaedic surgeon operating in Melbourne. She is locally & internationally trained, specialising in arthroplasty, oncological and trauma surgery. She completed her medical degree at the University of Newcastle in 2007 and underwent her comprehensive post graduate orthopaedic training in New South Wales and the USA, via the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) Training Scheme.
She subsequently went on to be awarded the prestigious Commonwealth Fellowship at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in London UK completing further sub-speciality fellowships in complex arthroplasty, limb salvage and tumour surgery as part of the London Sarcoma Service and Joint Replacement Unit. This opportunity afforded her the opportunity to work within complex sub-specialty surgical teams and work in many world-renowned hospitals including Northwick Park Hospital, The Brompton Hospital, The Royal Marsden Hospital, The Royal Free Hospital and both The Harley Street Clinic and The London Clinic.
Upon completing her fellowship she earned her Postgraduate Diploma (MIPDEd) in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh and took up a Consultant post at RNOH until returning to Australia .
Dr O'Reilly-Harbidge is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS Orth) and a Fellow of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA).
During her training, she was selected by her peers to represent them at the Australian Orthopaedic Registrars’ Association as the Orthopaedic Women's Link Representative and has gone on to be involved with the AOA through the Diversity strategy and the selection and training of future surgeons.
She is a member of the Australia and New Zealand Sarcoma Association (ANZSA) and the International Society of Limb Salvage (ISOLS), and a member of both the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (RCSEd).
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her young family, travel and squeezing in a gym session.
